This February Ruth Cadbury MP visited West Mid Hospital,

Speaking about her visit Ruth said,

''I was really pleased to have a really comprehensive visit where I got to see the new A&E waiting room and visit the Mulberry Centre, who support those with cancer (and their families)

I was also particularly pleased to visit the Early Pregnancy unit and to meet with members of the women’s health team to learn about the work they’re doing to improve treatment for fibroids. We also talked how to improve the diagnosis and support for women’s health issues such as the menopause and endometriosis.

We are so lucky to have West Mid locally and the service they provide is a testament to the hard work that staff across the NHS do (whether that’s nurses, doctors, clerical staff, managers, porters or the many others who keep the hospital running)

The visit was really helpful for my work in Parliament where I am continuing to campaign and work to ensure our NHS gets the support it needs. When the Government entered office in 2024 they invested an extra £22 billion into the NHS and gave NHS staff a much needed pay rise.

Thanks to this investment in our workforce and new technology we have seen an 35,000 extra appointments locally- all of which is helping to reduce waiting lists across the country. I know however that there is much more to do to get the NHS fighting fit and I will continue to work towards this.''
