Ruth Cadbury MP has thanked the ‘tireless work’ by volunteers, council staff and frontline workers who made possible the many Platinum Jubilee events in Hounslow over the long weekend. Ruth attended street parties at the Woodland Estate in Isleworth; Avenue, Enfield and Clifden Roads in Brentford, and Strand on the Green and Wellesley Road in Chiswick with more events in the coming weeks in Hounslow.
Speaking after these events Ruth said,
‘‘I’d like to thank everyone who volunteered over the past four days to make the Jubilee celebrations possible. Whether it was people donating time to organise and set up events, residents bringing food and drink, or those who worked behind the scenes, I know that everyone locally is extremely grateful for their hard work and tireless work.
I’d also like to thank all those keyworkers who worked across the Bank Holiday to keep us all safe and to ensure that the events went off without a hitch. I was very pleased with the support Hounslow Council gave to local organisers with £1000 grants and street closures for no charge, as this support ensured the many parties across the borough went with a swing.
It was wonderful to see so many get together in celebration of the Queens 70 years on the throne. Her service and dedication to our country has been unmatched, and she remains a great ambassador for the United Kingdom around the world.’’
