Ruth Cadbury MP Slams Heathrow’s Consultation on Third Runway

Ruth Cadbury MP I
Wednesday 31 January 2018
Heathrow’s latest consultation on the siting of the third runway runs until 28 March, but Brentford & Isleworth MP said there was so little detail available that there was no point in consulting now.“What is clear in the consultation is what is not clear” she said in the debate. “There is no clarity about the final approach paths that matter so much to our communities that are close to the airport. Furthermore there is no clarity on the traffic impacts and how they will be dealt with, about the respite periods, the congestion charge, nor how the runway and the transport infrastructure will be paid for.”Full video of Ruth's speech can be found here Notes:There are over 30 drop-in consultation events taking place, three of which are in the borough:HOUNSLOWTuesday 30 January, 12pm-8pm in the Blue zone at the Civic CentreFELTHAMTuesday 6 February, 12pm-8pm, St Giles Hotel Heathrow, Hounslow Road, Feltham TW14 9ADBRENTFORDTuesday 27 February, 12pm-8pm, Holiday Inn Brentford Lock, Commerce Road, Brentford TW8 8GAMore information is available on the Heathrow consultation webpages, including a consultation response e-form.Other Local MPs Vince Cable, Steven Pound, Zac Goldsmith and Andy Slaughter, also took part in the debate. The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, Jesse Norman represented the Government at the debate.
