Ruth Cadbury MP supports Giving Tuesday, one day to make a world of difference

Submitted by admin on

Ruth Cadbury MP is encouraging local charities and businesses to get involved in the 'Giving Tuesday' Campaign. Giving Tuesday is the global day of giving, a reminder of the need to give to charity following Black Friday and Cyber Monday when many people go shopping. This year giving Tuesday falls on the 27th of November. Charities can use it to fundraise, call for volunteers or simply say thank you to their amazing supporters, while businesses can use the day to support good causes in Brentford and Isleworth.

Last year, Giving Tuesday broke the World Record for the most online donations in 24 hours, with people giving more than $64 million to good causes globally through PayPal alone. Giving Tuesday now runs in over 40 countries and is powered by Charities Aid Foundation in the UK.

Charities, businesses and individuals can sign up for free to be part of the event at www.givingtuesday.org.uk or connect via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Speaking on Giving Tuesday, Ruth Cadbury MP said:

"I am delighted to be part of Giving Tuesday. It is a great opportunity for charities to amplify their voice, for businesses to give something back and for individuals to support a cause that means something to them. I would encourage all my constituents to use this one day to make a world of difference."

Ashleigh Milson, Giving Tuesday project lead at the Charities Aid Foundation said:

"Giving Tuesday is a day all about giving back, and we're delighted to have Ruth Cadbury MP on board celebrating the vital work of charities in Brentford and Isleworth."

"The UK is one of the most generous countries in the world and we at CAF are proud to run this campaign here - it's a fantastic opportunity to showcase all the great things that people and businesses are doing for charity."
