On Thursday 18th July Ruth Cadbury MP hosted a public meeting on Crime at Niskham School. Ruth chaired the meeting and was joined by the following representatives on the panel-Rob Wyatt from The PEACE Project, Astrid from 'Action Isleworth Mothers', Cllr Katherine Dunne from Hounslow Council and Superintendent Ricky Kandola, and Sergeant Anil Sharma from the Met Police.

Speaking after the meeting Ruth said,

''After my last public crime meeting in April I promised to hold a follow up event so residents could hear what steps we were taking as a community to tackle crime, and to also allow people to tell us about their concerns and worries about crime.

I know that lots of residents are concerned about crime, especially violent crime, and that they want to see cross community work taking place. Lots of very important issues were raised by residents including the rise in burglaries, cuts in policing and support for young people, and delays within the court system.

I will keep working across the community to bring groups and people together, and to ensure that we work together to tackle crime.

With a new Prime Minister set to enter Downing Street next week I will also continue to push the Government to do much more to tackle crime, such as fully funding our police, and investing back into youth services.''
